What’s The Fuss About RSS
By Krishna De on Jun 5, 2008 in Web 2.0, Technology, podcampireland08, Social Media
At many events that I speak at on the subject of social media, one of the areas I cover is RSS and how it can be of benefit to you whether you are an entrepreneur or employed in large organisation.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication - I like to think if it this way: instead of having to go down to the newsagent to pick up your daily newspaper, it gets delivered to your home direct every morning by the newspaper boy or girl (though you don’t see them about much anymore other than on Coronation Street!).
If you were reading the article I wrote yesterday about Yahoo Pipes as a great research tool, you might want to learn a little more about RSS if you are new to feeds.
You can find an article I wrote about RSS, what it means and how to use it.
If you are a visual learner then I hope you will find this short video entitled ‘RSS in plain English’ from The Common Craft Show of benefit.
And remember if you aren’t sure about various aspects of social media and how it can benefit you or your business, post a question here and we’ll see what we can do to answer your questions either here on the PodCamp Ireland blog or in a podcast from the organising team - we’ll be starting the PodCamp Ireland podcast later this month.
